Christine
Christine is Oscar’s General Manager and Rest and Restore’s “all things accommodation” support person. You can’t miss Christine’s warmth and generosity whilst you stay with us.
Over the last 7 years, Oscar’s has provided Christine, her parents, her partner, their 3 children and Buddy the dog, a wonderful place to live and grow. They feel cocooned by the mountains, the river and the towering trees surrounding them.
She likes to consider that they are the latest custodians supporting Oscar’s rich history and the magnificent land that holds them. The guesthouse itself was built to welcome visitors to the area but at the same time served as a retreat for war widows and a riding school for children.
Perhaps the spirit of the land that evokes care and support. Christine vividly recalls the felt sense of the earth’s embrace when they took ownership of the property and this connection has deepened as she has continued to learn about the plants and edibles from local elder, Murrindindi.
Christine invites you to take in this spirit and find the rest and support you need at Oscar’s and invites you to return anytime you need to refill your cup.
Christine's Rest and Restore Practice
As she walk’s from her house to Oscar’s, she notices the twin mountains, her companions and greet them by twisting to the left towards Little Jo and then to the right towards Donna (Buang). This gentle twist not only assists her spine but helps her feel grounded and supported
She takes time to notice the little changes that occur daily at Oscar’s - the unfurling of a new leaf, the dewdrops, the misty clouds
Slowing down long enough to say “How are you” and really meaning it
