Bonnie
Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy. Her journey into naturopathy began from a personal dissatisfaction with conventional health solutions, which led her to explore and embrace alternative paths to wellbeing. This exploration ignited a passion for holistic health, particularly in the areas of women’s health and mental health.
As a qualified Naturopath, she brings her knowledge and compassionate approach to her role as Reservation & Administration Coordinator at Rest and Restore. Her background in naturopathy informs her work, ensuring that the retreat operates with a deep understanding of holistic wellness principles and guests are always cared for.
Bonnie is dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for both the retreat’s clients and staff. Her empathetic and organised approach helps to ensure that every aspect of the retreat runs smoothly, allowing clients to focus fully on their healing and rejuvenation.
In addition to her role at Rest and Restore, Bonnie is a mother to a lively young son, which adds a personal dimension to her understanding of health and wellness. Balancing motherhood with her work schedule and self-care has enriched her appreciation for the importance of maintaining holistic health in everyday life.
Bonnie finds solace and rejuvenation in nature. She enjoys discovering new trails to walk with her young family, and watching her son in awe of what Mother Nature has to offer. A long hot bath or a good book are ways she loves to unwind, or finding movement by dancing to a favourite song or joining in on a high-intensity gym class when release is needed instead. Bonnie also uses flowers as a creative outlet, having enjoyed being a florist for a number of years before discovering her passion in natural health.
Bonnie’s Rest & Restore Practice
Finding little glimmers in everyday life. The small moments of beauty or joy that we often miss in our busy existence. Whether it be the light shining through a glass of water and creating a rainbow, or noticing the feeling of warmth that the sun creates on her skin
Aiming for progress, not perfection
Learning to say “no” when she needs to. Having good boundaries means loving yourself enough to risk disappointing others. Poor boundaries are like using our own wellness reserve to water someone else’s garden, and will lead to burn out. Anything that costs our peace, costs too much
Giving herself permission to slow down
Trying to nurture herself the way she would nurture others. Bonnie tries to notice in moments of pain or difficulty if she is showing herself harshness or judgement. What would we say or do for a beloved friend in this moment? Be that person, to ourselves
Aiming to always have something to do, someone to love and something to look forward to
